Each Sunday morning, individuals meet in small groups to explore and discover the truths the Bible has for their everyday life. We call this Sunday School.
Hickory Grove is a large church both in physical size and numbers, and through Sunday School, we demonstrate our personal interest and ministry to each individual. It is the vital link between the church body and the individual.
Sunday School is a community that exists to invite people into the family of faith, to connect them through relationships, and to help them discover God's Word.
One of the greatest ways to meet Dr. Brown and the staff is to attend "Dinner with the Pastor." This is also a great way to find out what Hickory Grove believes and why. The evening begins with a reception as each guest checks in and finds their table assignment. Next, everyone moves to the eating area where guests are seated at tables with ministers and church members. Guests have the opportunity to ask questions while everyone enjoys a delicious dinner served by our Food Service Department. Later, Dr. Brown takes the floor and introduces the Hickory Grove staff and shares four points about what the people of Hickory Grove Baptist Church believe. The evening ends for guests having the opportunity at their individual tables to join the church. There is no charge for the event, and childcare is provided for birth through fourth grade by advance reservation. Make reservations for dinner and childcare now to attend the next dinner. The next dinners will be Thursday, April 17, at our North Campus and Thursday, June 26, at our Main Campus.
Next Step is designed for guest and new members who want to know more about the church. It is a comfortable and informative class, where you will learn valuable information about spiritual growth and "church life" in general. The sessions are taught by Teresa Brown, our senior Pastor's wife.
The four-week session:
- Explores the truth of God's Word
- Looks at membership in God's family at Hickory Grove
- Teaches valuable information on spiritual growth
- Provides information on church life
- Gives the opportunity to hear Teresa's personal testimony and her pilgrimage with Dr. Brown to where they are today.
